Description:Through a series of interactive discussions (35%) and hands-on (65%), the student gains knowledge from the real world experience of the instructor. The course covers the administration and management of the Ethernet Routing Switch 8600. Topics include "out of the box and ready to go" configuration, initial configuration, Device Manager, CLI Manager, Web Interface, Upgrade the 8600 software, Managing configuration and boot configuration files, managing the onboard flash and PCMCIA flash, Spanning Tree, VLANs, IP forwarding, and so on. The course also covers the more advance features of the Ethernet Routing Switch, such as VRRP, OSPF, RIP, DHCP Relay, QoS and filtering, MLT, DMLT, SMLT, Routed SMLT, SNMPv3, SSH, and UDP Forwarding .
This course is equivalent to Nortel's 7515C - Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 Configuration and Management course.
