Prerequisite: Experience with networking products such as bridges, switches, firewalls, and routers. Also, experience with Internet protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and HTTPS is required. Otherwise the student should take the TCP/IP Fundamentals course.
Audience: Individuals that need to provision and maintain the Nortel Networks’ Alteon switches in a network should attend this course. This includes System Engineers, Network Architects, Network Administrators, Network Support Engineers, Field Engineers, and any personnel responsible for an Alteon Web Switches.

Description:This course delivers a detailed coverage of the Nortel Network’s Alteon Application Switches for installation and configuration in a network. The course begins with discussions at the introductory theory level of content/application switching. Discussion of the Nortel Networks’ Alteon Application Switch features, functions, implementations, and operations follow. The students will then administer and configure the Application Switches in various configurations, which illustrate the web switches capabilities. This course is 70% hands-on and is the equivalent of Nortel's 7951C course.
