History samples are useful for collecting network statistics for specific time periods, ranging from one second to every 24 hours, and can be logged to a disk.

• Speeds Problem Resolution - Sniffer^® Portable High-Speed decodes over 500 protocols to interpret all seven OSI layers and four ATM sublayers in full English text. To expedite problem resolution, Sniffer^® Portable High-Speed decodes both raw (8B/10B) and encoded frames for Gigabit Ethernet. The solution traces point-to-point and multipoint Virtual Channel Connections (VCCs) for ATM. The displays show open and closed Switched Virtual Circuit (SVC) connections in real time while capturing for ATM.
• Protocol Interpretation - Protocol Interpretation turns an unintelligible stream of ATM cells or Gigabit 10Bit encoded data into clearly labeled commands and readable text. The Sniffer^® Portable High-Speed suite supports more than 500 protocols, and displays the contents of each encoded frame, cell and AAL5 frame at all seven OSI layers.
