Ethernet Routing Switch 5000 Series

The Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 5500 models are 1 rack unit high next-generation stackable 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Layer 3 routing switches designed to provide high-density Gigabit desktop connectivity to mid-size and large enterprise customers' wiring closets. The Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 5500 is available in four models:

The Ethernet Routing Switch 5510-48T features 48 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports for desktop switching and two built-in SFP (Small Form factor Pluggable) GBIC ports for uplink. Port 47 and Port 48 offer configuration flexibility by allowing the network administrator to configure each port as either 10/100/1000 or make use of the built-in GBIC. As many as eight BayStack 5510-48T Switches can be stacked to achieve up to 384 10/100/1000 ports for high-density desktop switching.

The Ethernet Routing Switch 5510-24T offers 24 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports for desktop switching and two built-in SFP GBIC ports for uplink. Port 23 and Port 24 offer configuration flexibility as either a 10/100/1000 or a built-0in SFP GBIC. Both BayStack 5510-24T and 5510-48T switches may be combined in a single stack for maximum flexibility.

The Ethernet Routing Switch 5520-48T PWR features 48 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports for Gigabit desktop switching and Power over Ethernet capability, four built-in SFP (Small Form factor Pluggable) GBIC ports for uplink, and two built-in stacking ports.

The Ethernet Routing Switch 5520-24T PWR Offers 24 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports for Gigabit desktop switching and Power over Ethernet capability, four built-in SFP GBIC ports for uplink, and two built-in stacking ports.

• BoSS is included on the Ethernet Routing Switch 5000 models and will allow them to stack with other Ethernet Routing Switch 5000 models. The single software image simplifies software upgrades.
